design envy

LETTERPRESS.

What I would do to own one...

Seriously. Where can I get my hands on a letterpress that isn't a million dollars?
That and Adobe Suite? WHY are the coolest things so expensive?

I feel I have such a creative mind with no tools to put it to use. Sigh... maybe someday...

Or you could buy one for me. :)

treasures

e let me dig through her old things one day and allowed me to take whatever I wanted. each little piece had a story that she shared and I sat captivated by all her tales of her treasures.

these are some I have with me in my apartment. there are many, many more, but these are my favorites:

thanks for sharing all your stories with me, grammie! I love hearing them.

the place I call home

Frustration

As I've had a lot on my mind the past week or so, I have been clinging to this psalm that David *wrote in his confusion and frustration to God:

"How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise,  for he has been good to me."

I'm not usually one to post such things, because I'm a person that thinks faith should be personal and intimate; however, David's words are literally the words I've been crying out lately.

I'm at a place in my life where I have no idea if I'm making good decisions or not, or doing "what is best" for me. I'm tired. I'm frustrated. And I just want answers.

Keep looking up I guess?

Moments

My Easter weekend was spent in Chicago. I ate, drank, and laughed a lot with my family. And gave probably a thousand kisses to my niece.

It was her six month birthday last Saturday and we kicked off the day with an auntie/niece bonding moment over her morning bottle. That babe starts kicking and grunting as soon as she sees her milk in the bottle- it is the cutest thing. Her mouth opens to a big "O" and reaches for it with all her baby might.

My sister and I talked about our dreams of owning a business one day- after all our kiddos leave the nest. How Maddie will be when she's older. How she wants to redecorate a new house. How she wants me to move to Chicago so. badly. We also shared smiles as we watched Maddie fall asleep on the living room floor.

I realized last weekend how much these little moments mean so much to my heart. I only spent 48 hours with them, but I was overflowing with joy when I left. They really fill me up to carry onward.

What are your little moments, and are you noticing them in your life? Slow down to appreciate them for your heart may feel just a little bit fuller.

it's all or none

Gram once said to me: "I like you, Teresa. You are footloose and fancy free!"

If you're going to do something, dive in. DO IT. Learn as you go, think as you go, and enjoy as you go.

All or nothing!

To self-- Teresa, never stop living life this way. It's so (freaking) wonderful.

Oh, hello

What? I haven't written a post for a few weeks? Whoops. I'd say that I'm sorry, but I know that no one really cares and that most of you only visit my blog from a link I post. :) And I don't hate it- not one bit! I'm glad you are a link clicker. Welcome, link clickers that are bored at work or are sitting around doing nothing. You are welcome here.

So, hi. I don't have much to update you on. My life is very simple. You see, this is normally how my weeks are spent: work, eat, sleep, work, eat, sleep.... and so on. The weekends look a little different: sleep, eat, play, sleep, eat, play... and so on. Truly, the life I live is very complex.

I did, however, get a promotion at work! I am an official "Project Coordinator." For those of you that haven't the slightest idea of what I do, I work for Thermo-Scan Inspections, and we are a green energy-efficiency centered company that performs a wide range of inspections on homes and commercial businesses to help save them money. It's nothing I ever thought I would be doing out of college, but I'm learning something new everyday. I work with new homes on the residential side of our business. I work with builders (Ryland, Beazer, Drees, etc) and coordinate new home projects so that we can go in and *energy certify them. We are just a tiny piece to the gigantic puzzle of building a new home.

Side note- For those of you that watched Ashley Hebert's season of The Bachelorette, Ryan and I would have had a lot to talk about in terms of energy saving. Perhaps I need to track him down, although I did think he was too nice...creepily nice.

Life is good though. I'm looking forward to finding a new apartment in the next few months and doing another move. I'm visiting my sister, bro-in-law, and sweet niece every free weekend I have, and I'm **saving as much money as possible. I've got a sweet vacation coming up with my parents at the end of May, which I've already told you about, but I am so thrilled to go to the beach. It's been a while!

Because every good blogger posts pictures, here are some snapshots of a recent face time with baby m:

That girl makes me weak! More pictures to come of this little one for I will be in Chicago this coming weekend. :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend. Talk to you SOON this time!

love you e,
love, t.

*I do not energy certify homes. I simply organize the process for our field techs to do so.
**more like trying to save

on Zumba

Okay okay. I know all of you know about zumba, but I have to tell you, it is my newest obsession. I have found a class instructor that I LOVE. It's more rap music than latin, and boy let me tell you, I shake my behind and get so into it! It's a border line hip hop dance class. To give you a taste, this is my favorite song of her set to dance to:

Hahaha. Surprising, right? Post-zumba contentment:

I love it. If you haven't tried a class yet (or a DVD), try it. So fun. Such a good work out.

Heading to Chicago today after lunch. Going to see Steve, sister, & little baby m. Pictures to come!
Oh! And tonight we're seeing a comedian... Jo Koy. My first comedy show, everrrrr. I'll let you know how
it goes! Happy weekend, and happy St. Pat's!

Let's get artsy!

Yesterday, I spoke of a DIY I've got my brains on... a painting!

I wanted to show you my inspiration. Michelle [freaking] Armas:

all of these paintings can be purchased here

Her work is so vibrant and just plain pretty. Anthro is actually selling her paintings right now! Go ooo and ahhh over them.

I'm going to try my best to replicate the theme of these. May need to call my Gram for help- she's an incredible artist. I need a pop of color in my living room and bedroom. The tricky part will be finding a cheap canvas. Any suggestions to the painters out there reading?

happy DIYing ya'll.

March Additions

I have been on the look out for some cute euro shams for my bed, and small lamp shade and continued to come back to these from Anthropologie. I splurged a little a bought them today [on sale!]- courtesy of tax return. ;)

And of course, like any other shopping venture, something else caught my eye:

Cute spring dish towels. I'm excited about my little purchases. Is there anything you're
currently hunting for your home? I'm always searching for some cute antique pieces/frames...

I also found a painting today in a store and thought, "I could totally do that." DIY adventure to come...

spring happiness

How can you not be a happier person after the weekend we just had? Oh my goodness. It was just beautiful.
The birds were singing, the sun was shining, people were everywhere, the patio furniture at all the restaurants
were out... spring is definitely here! And I am just eating it up.

I watched the movie "Like Crazy" on Saturday. The movie was such a realistic portrayal of a long distance relationship and the hardships that come along with one. What I loved was that it didn't romanticize the idea of being apart. It's brutal, excruciating at times, and it just plain sucks. This movie showed exactly that and all the twists and turns in between. Go watch- it's definitely not a feel good movie though, FYI.

After church on Sunday, I walked to Starbucks with the roomie. We sat outside on the patio and soaked up the sunshine. I'm reading Harry Potter for the first time EVER. It is so good :)

We cleaned off our patio furniture afterwards and picked up all the litter around our porch. People throw the grossest things into our bushes. It's so annoying! I picked up a thick dog bone as large as my thigh just laying next to our railing. This has to be the only negative thing I've found about living on the first floor.

Anyways, now we get to enjoy our porch a little bit more. Bring on the 70's this week! I'm so excited. How was your weekend??

love, t.

- also, I've sucked at taking pictures lately. I'll make up for it this coming weekend... going to see family! Yay!!
76 days until Florida vacation...sigh.....

Weekend Recap

The first weekend of March was just lovely. Went to bed with tornado-like storms on Friday and woke up to snow flurries on Saturday...only in Indiana, right? Seriously though, Friday was scary! The eye of the storm went directly over our building and headed East- we (the youngins in the office) watched it approach in the office and all ran to the bathroom. A fellow co-worker, who was not as concerned for her life as we were, snapped this photo of us. My face is a blob of laughter-

Saturday, I woke up with a lot of energy. I went through every piece of clothing in my closet and did the toss-keep-sell thing. Afterwards, I brought the sell pile to Plato's Closet and made around $80 on clothes I no longer wear. I guess it's better than nothing, right? An added bonus of going there was it was right next to Petco and it happened to be their puppy adoption day. There were puppies everywhere! I tried to convince myself on the drive home that I could get myself a puppy. Not yet, Teresa :( .

Later in the day, I went to see this movie with my roommate. While cheesy and the plot was incredibly easy to predict, I still had some good laughs. And the men were easy to look at as well ;)

We also got dolled up and went to one of my favoritest (yes, favoritest) restaurants in Broad Ripple...Mama Corolla's!

Sunday was laundry, shopping, laundry, Wendy's, cleaning, laundry, and lounging. And cuddling with roommate's doggie-

Pretty good weekend. I plan on sitting at home and doing nothing this coming weekend for I will be traveling the next couple ones. Yay, travel! Yay, plans! Yay, family! Yay, friends! Maybe I will do some hardcore SPRING CLEANING... I kind of get excited about it. Check out this link here. Maybe you will get excited too :).

I keep putting off taxes- perhaps I will get that done as well. Or not :)

Happy Monday.

Those people called friends

Went out with this little firecracker last evening.

We reached into each other's souls and pulled out the muck, sorted through it, and in the end, found a little bit more clarity.

Friends are the greatest support, and we often forget that. If you let people in on what you're experiencing and feeling, you'll find some relief. For they too have things they're dealing with that they need to release as well. I think lowering your guard and boundaries to those you love most will give you the greatest comfort in times of need.

*I just can't go on any further without a shout out to all my lovies. Heyyyyyy.*

With that said....a little tough love- get over yourself. Get over your insecurities and let down your giant proud wall and share what's going on with your friends. That is what they are there for!!!

Today we have landed on Wednesday, hump day as many like to call it, and it feels like SUMMER outside. Not complaining! I think that little ground hog (I just typed beaver before that... what the heck) guy was lying to us all. Not to jinx anything, but I think winter has left the building. Hello, spring!

I am a happier person just looking at this photo....sigh....

Enjoy your day, everyone. And go talk to your friends!

Hello, Thank You

Hello, world. Unless my blog stat page is lying to me, which it very easily could be, I would like to take a moment to say hello to my readers in Russia, Germany, Argentina, Macedonia, Brazil, and of course, my homeland, the U.S.

I would like to openly validate to all of you that some of my posts are "meatless" and contain no substance whatsoever, and others are more serious and thought provoking. And I also realize that my life can be boring and I may post things that are insignificant and irrelevant to you. However, I hope you can find meaning in my meaningless things. If that makes sense. Read if you want, if not, onward with your search for a better blog. No offense taken!

I find enjoyment in this outlet. It's nice to have around. And while small in number, it's nice to have some readers around as well. It's nice to have people reading my thoughts, regardless of how surface level or in- depth they may be. What I'm trying to say is, I like you guys. And thank you. :)

Mems & Laughs

Sometimes I like to look through old photos because they bring funny memories to mind. Here are some that made me laugh today just looking at them:

If you're in any of these, please feel free to comment below with the memory you have of it. I'd love to hear your laughs too!
